The heart of the Raven Ministry is to reach out to homeless people living on the streets and in shelters by eating with them, which naturally opens a window to share God’s love and the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ.
The ministry consists of five teams that visit ten rotating locations in New York City, five nights a week.
Often, the volunteers end up talking to people that are not homeless but hopeless. The team also provides the homeless with a referral directory of pantries and soup kitchens in Manhattan where they can access free food and shelter on a regular basis.
To stay encouraged in the ministry and maintain the big picture vision, all Raven Ministry teams meet collectively two Sundays a month to pray and cry out to God in worship. Their worship is warfare for the streets.
The Raven Ministry hosts teams from all over the world interested in learning how to reach out to the homeless. Ministering alongside the Raven Ministry these visiting teams are blessed and encouraged, and return with a renewed passion to serve the homeless. As a result, many Raven Ministries have been launched in cities across the US, South America and Europe.
